The enhancement of the agri-food products of Ceglie passes through a fair that is held in the summer.
There are many tourists who spend their holidays on the coast, on this occasion the range of products is put on display to let them discover real gastronomic delights, available, then, even in the other seasons, oil, wine, ricotta marzotica and ricotta forte , fresh cheeses, biscuits and sweets made with almonds, pickled olives, dried fruit, figs, tomato preserves and in oil.
Do not miss the excellent griselle, homemade pasta, bread and honey.

CISTERNINO (BR)
SAGRE DELLE CONTRADE

There is no summer day in Costernino and its districts in which there is no entertainment: a lot of cinema, theater, painting, tradition and history, photographic exhibitions, sporting activities.
They take place in the districts in one of the most beautiful scenery of the Valle d’Itria, in a very quiet countryside, characterized by the presence of white houses or trulli surrounded by vegetable gardens, vineyards, olive groves, in turn delimited by dry stone walls. .
Bocce games are held along the tracks and cheerful evenings under the pergola, as if not to forget, and indeed to strengthen, the link with the bucolic traditions.
The best of home cooking passes on the fires of the districts: roasts of rabbit and braciola, gnemeriedde, orecchiette with tomato and ricotta forte, wine and excellent bread and even dancing, with music of folk orchestras.

The moment is established by the fishermen, in relation to when they believe they are able to offer a good quantity of product: quantity and quality are essential for the success of this party.
Once the date has been decided, there is only word of mouth and some manifesto: the appointment is in the small port of Torre Canne.
Here the octopus is served mainly roasted, but the people of Bari prefer it raw, as long as repeatedly beaten and curled, leaving amazed the many foreigners who came to Puglia to spend their holidays there.

LATIANO (BR)
SAGRA DEGLI STACCHIODDI
1st Sunday of October
This festival was designed for the enhancement of this typical dish of Brindisi. In fact, it is the orecchiette, very common throughout Puglia and Lucania, but Latiano argue that the stacchioddi that produce are really special.
Not by chance they have a festival that has lasted for 22 years. This takes place in the covered market square where on the occasion good wines, bread, oil and celery are also offered.

OSTUNI (BA)
SAGRA DELLA NIGHT OF S. GIOVANNI

The festival is an opportunity to revive the tradition of the night of San Giovanni, when entire families of farmers and fishermen gathered and consumed dishes prepared by the women of the various family groups.
It has even more striking aspects if lived in the ancient village of Ostini, considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. Alleys, squares, baroque doors, wrought-iron balconies, street lamps in the theme, scents of land and sea, noble buildings, and the cathedral are the ideal backdrop for the setting of the festival, during which exhibitions of paintings and sculptures are held. there are theatrical performances and we consume dishes based on cavatelli, orecchiette served with tomato sauce and marzotica ricotta or with the askuante, and also dishes with meatballs with sauce, fresh cheeses, roasts of lamb offal rolls, soups of wheat, bread balls.

SAN PIETRO VERNOTICO (BR)
FESTIVAL OF PITTULA

The festival has a rather impromptu character and is also set up in the courts, together with an exhibition of old tools once used in the countryside, or for ancient crafts.
The fair and the festival are also set up to propose and enhance local products: wine, oil, fresh cheeses, vegetables, fruit, baked goods and hot hair for everyone.
